Our Restaurant

Kwai Kee Chiu Chow Resturant is a family run business by the Wu’s family. It is located in San Po Kong which is largely an erstwhile industrial and residential area, close the former Kai Tak International Airport and the Kowloon City District where some of the oldest Chiu Chow restaurants can be found.

 

Papa Wu used to work for a Chiu Chownese restaurant for twenty years after moving to Hong Kong. With the help of his relatives in searching for ground-floor premises with reasonable rents, the Wu’s family has started running their own restaurant since 2002.

 

Walking into the restaurant, those who are unfamiliar with Chiu Chow food may be surprised to find a variety of cold seafood platters that are served cold with a vinegar dip. The restaurant serves traditional Chiu Chownese dishes such as braised goose, oyster omelette. Poaching, steaming and braising are some of the typical methods of cooking.The freshly made baby oyster congee and the stuffed pig intestines are the signature delicacy that you don’t want to miss! For those with a sweet tooth, try a bowl of green beans sweet soup and the crispy fried taro that are not commonly found elsewhere.

 

The restaurant opens from 5 pm till midnight, be sure to make a reservation in advance as it can get really crowded after dark!
